The main material of the profiles is aluminium alloy. 6000 series alloys are generally used in production.

The alloy is cast into cylindrical logs called billets. These billets are the raw material for extrusion.

Billets are heated to approximately 450–500 °C. The internal structure becomes homogeneous and the mechanical properties of the material improve.

The heated billet is pushed through the die under high pressure by the extrusion press and takes the shape of the profile. The extruded profile is cooled with water or air.

Profiles are cut to the required length and cooled completely on cooling tables. Straightness and surface quality are checked at this stage.

T5 or T6 heat treatment is applied to the cut profiles, which increases the strength and hardness of the profile.

A durable oxide layer is formed on the surface by anodising, or colour is applied by electrostatic powder coating.
Dimensions, surface quality and strength are checked. Approved profiles are packed and prepared for dispatch.

Polycarbonate in granule form is used in production. A suitable blend is prepared with light-diffusing additives to achieve the required light transmission and opal appearance.

Moisture in the polycarbonate is removed with a dryer before production. This prevents bubbles, surface defects and loss of strength during melting.

The dried raw material is fed into the extrusion machine. The heaters and the rotating screw melt the material, mix it evenly and move it towards the die.

The molten material is passed through a die made specifically for the cover. The cover’s section, width and the clip structure that fits into the aluminium profile are formed at this stage.
The hot cover leaving the die is brought to its target dimensions in the calibration section and cooled in a controlled way. This fixes its shape and limits bending and dimensional variation.

The haul-off unit moves the cover along the line at a steady speed. The cooled cover is cut to the length specified in the order, for example 3 metres.

The cover’s dimensions, wall thickness, surface smoothness and fit in the aluminium profile are checked. Light diffusion and colour consistency are examined with an LED, and defective products are separated.
Covers that pass inspection are packed with protection against scratching and deformation. They are prepared for dispatch with the product type, length and quantity stated.
