LED Plasterboard Z Profile

The LED Plasterboard Z Profile is an aluminium section that combines surface and edge details at different levels with linear lighting. In the Y6273 model the LED channel sits between flanges extending in opposite directions. The Z shape is considered for creating a lit transition at plasterboard edges.

  • Plasterboard Z LED profile

    The flanges extending at different levels help arrange the edges of adjoining surfaces. The orientation of the profile is determined from the project section.

  • LED opening on the side face

    The light channel is positioned to emphasise the line between the surfaces. The direction the lighting will face is planned before installation.

  • Lit plasterboard edge trim profile

    The 15.2 mm overall height in the section is the reference for positioning between layers. The plasterboard and finishing material thicknesses are assessed separately.

  • White and black options

    The visible parts of the body can be matched to the surface or used to create contrast. The colour choice also completes the daytime appearance of the lit transition.

Applications and model selection

It can be used in stepped plasterboard ceilings, wall ends, niche surrounds and lit surface transitions. The Z section should be assessed together with details in which two surfaces connect at different levels.

Installation and Model Compatibility

The profile is positioned together with the plasterboard layers and the finished surface level. The flanges are fixed with a suitable connection; the LED channel is protected from plaster and paint residue. The strip and cover are chosen according to the inner section. The direction of the light is checked with a sample installation before the surface is closed.

How is it installed?

  1. Measure and cut

    Mark the profile to the length required and cut it straight with a metal-cutting saw.

  2. Fit the LED strip

    Remove the backing tape from the strip and press it along the full length of the channel base to stick it down.

  3. Route the cable out

    Take the power cable out through the end of the profile or through a hole you have drilled.

  4. Fix the profile

    Fix the profile to the mounting surface with clips, screws or adhesive.

  5. Fit the cover

    Press the cover into the channel until it seats, then fit the end caps.

How is the cover fitted?

  1. Start from one end

    Insert one end of the cover into the channel at the end of the profile.

  2. Press along the full length

    Press the cover with your thumb to seat it in the channel along the profile.

  3. Fit the end caps

    Close both ends of the profile with the end caps.

Which colour options are available?

Colour and finish options vary by product. For products with more than one option, the selection is made in the purchase area. For products with a single finish, the finish is stated under Product Specifications. For colours outside the standard options, you can submit a custom colour request with a RAL code.
