Y6247 Plasterboard Concealed Corner LED Profile

The Y6247 Plasterboard Hidden Corner LED Profile forms an illuminated edge detail with its wide flat flange and side-opening LED channel. The aluminium section is used to define the surface boundary at plasterboard junctions and to highlight that boundary with lighting. The 45.8 mm width shown in the drawing provides a reference for the layout plan.

Highlights

  • Wide-flanged hidden corner profile

    The horizontal extension of the section governs the relationship of the profile to the adjacent surface. The position of the flange in the application is determined together with the finished surface level.

  • Plasterboard edge LED channel

    The light channel is positioned beneath the flange and opens to the side. This arrangement can be used to illuminate an edge or a step line.

  • 15.54 mm overall height

    The compact channel projection is used when planning the installation gap. The internal volume of the channel and the outer section dimensions are assessed separately.

  • Surface colour alternatives

    Black, white, mill finish and custom paint options allow the visible parts to be matched to the decoration. The daytime appearance of the profile is also taken into account in the finish design.

Applications and model selection

It can be used on plasterboard ceiling edges, around niches and in wall details that call for a side-opening line of light. The project section is assessed in terms of the surface on which the wide flange will sit and the direction of the light.

Installation and Model Compatibility

The profile is dry-fitted together with the building layers and then installed. The LED opening is protected during fixing and finishing work. The strip and the cover are selected according to the internal section and the seat. Access to the cable connections and the space for removing the cover are planned before the surfaces are finished.

How is it installed?

  1. Measure and cut

    Mark the profile to the length required and cut it straight with a metal-cutting saw.

  2. Fit the LED strip

    Remove the backing tape from the strip and press it along the full length of the channel base to stick it down.

  3. Route the cable out

    Take the power cable out through the end of the profile or through a hole you have drilled.

  4. Fix the profile

    Fix the profile to the mounting surface with clips, screws or adhesive.

  5. Fit the cover

    Press the cover into the channel until it seats, then fit the end caps.

How is the cover fitted?

  1. Start from one end

    Insert one end of the cover into the channel at the end of the profile.

  2. Press along the full length

    Press the cover with your thumb to seat it in the channel along the profile.

  3. Fit the end caps

    Close both ends of the profile with the end caps.

Which colour options are available?

Colour and finish options vary by product. For products with more than one option, the selection is made in the purchase area. For products with a single finish, the finish is stated under Product Specifications. For colours outside the standard options, you can submit a custom colour request with a RAL code.
