Stainless Steel Expansion Profile Type 2

The stainless steel expansion joint profile Type 2 provides inward-curved side edges, with a centre part between them, for the movement joint in tile covering. The two perforated flanges of the stainless steel body sit beneath the covering on either side of the joint.

    The Type 2 expansion joint profile differs from the Type 1 model in the opposing curves of its centre part.

Applications and model selection

It can be used on tiled floors where a movement joint is provided in the project. When a stainless steel floor expansion joint profile is selected, the joint width, the movement requirement and the covering system are examined together.

Installation and Covering Compatibility

The profile is placed in a direction that follows the movement joint. The side flanges are set in a suitable bed; the centre part is kept free to move. The load and movement capacity for the tile movement joint is determined by technical approval.
