Stainless Steel Profiles

Stainless steel profiles complete a range of building details, from tile edges to floor transitions and from stair edges to decorative borders. The Yiğit Alüminyum collection contains eight profile groups arranged by place of application. You can choose the right section by considering the shape of the visible face, the covering thickness and the function of the joint together.

Application guide for choosing stainless steel profiles

Choosing a stainless steel profile depends on the fixing method as much as on the appearance of the metal surface. A flange that sits beneath the covering does not follow the same installation sequence as a model that sits on the finished surface. A corner finish, a transition between two floors and a movement joint are different requirements. Identifying the point of application first and then comparing the sections in that group makes it easier to reach the right product.

Choosing a model by application

  1. Ceramic and wall tile edges

Stainless steel tile profiles cover oval, square, right-angled, U-form, internal corner and bendable models. The choice is made according to the direction of the corner and the form wanted at the end of the covering.

  2. Floor and step transitions

Stainless steel flooring profiles organise threshold and covering joints. Stainless steel stair profiles offer different sections that complete the front edge of the step.

  3. Wall finishes and decorative lines

Stainless steel skirting profiles are intended for the wall-to-floor line, and stainless steel border profiles for decorative divisions on the covering. Plain, patterned and crystal-set borders have different surface effects.

  4. Special joint details

Stainless steel expansion profiles are considered around movement joints, and stainless steel slope profiles at the edge of a sloped covering. The channel section in the stainless steel glass frame profiles group is intended for the joint between tile and glass.

Four checks when choosing

  1. Point of application

Choose different sections for a corner, free edge, threshold, step, wall base or joint. Assess the product name together with the application drawing.

  2. Covering and level

Measure the actual thickness of the covering, the bonding layer and the finished surface level. Do not treat the section height and the visible face width as interchangeable.

  3. Material and surface

Verify the steel grade and the surface treatment for the selected model. The environment of use, the cleaning method and compatibility with adjacent materials depend on this information.

  4. Installation sequence

Check whether the profile is fitted during laying or onto the completed surface. Match special joint and glass details to the project requirements.

Areas of use and suitability

A stainless steel edge trim profile forms a metal boundary at covering ends in residential and commercial interiors. Not every product in the collection is designed for the same task: a border offers a decorative surface line, while a threshold profile organises the floor joint. In wet areas, under heavy use or under special cleaning conditions, material and installation compatibility should be examined model by model.

Planning before installation

Before installation, the profile is checked together with the covering and, where applicable, the glass sample. The cutting points, corner joints and finished level are determined. The fixing method is chosen according to the technical detail of the relevant model. Requirements such as joint movement, waterproofing or glass safety are resolved within the whole system, not inferred from the profile name alone.

Identify the right section for your application

Identify the function of the joint; compare the covering and the profile section with the finished surface dimensions.
