Linear LED Profiles

LED Profiles

The Linear LED Profiles category contains the Linear LED Luminaire Housing, which is used as the body in linear luminaire design. When choosing this aluminium housing from Yiğit Alüminyum, review the LED position, the internal compartments and the installation arrangement together. The lighting as a whole should be planned according to the electrical and optical components that will be used with the housing.

Selection guide for the linear LED luminaire housing

The linear LED luminaire housing is the profile body in which the components of a linear lighting design are placed. In this section, also searched for as a linear LED profile, the outer body and the usable internal space have separate dimensions. The LED module, the diffuser and the connection details are assessed within the same application. The profile body does not by itself determine the light output or the electrical properties of a finished luminaire.

Four selection criteria for the current housing

  1. Aluminium body

When choosing an aluminium luminaire housing, the overall width and height are compared with the space where it will be installed. The technical drawing should be used to assess the internal layout of the body as well as its outer appearance.

  2. LED mounting area

The LED area inside a linear luminaire profile is reviewed against the actual size of the module or strip to be used. The width of the outer body should not be taken as the usable LED channel.

  3. Internal compartments

A compartmented LED profile divides the space inside the body for different arrangements. The size of the electrical components, the connection openings and service access should be assessed together with these compartments.

  4. Light output surface

For a linear lighting profile, the seating of the diffuser in the body and the light opening are checked. The relationship between the LED layout and the diffuser affects the appearance of the finished light line.

Match the housing to the lighting components

  1. Technical section

Read the outer dimension, the internal compartment and the cover seat separately on the drawing. Check the usable space of each part inside the housing.

  2. LED and driver layout

The power requirement of the LED component and the driver position are determined by the project. Whether the driver fits in the housing, or can be used inside it, should be confirmed separately.

  3. Installation method

Resolve in advance the parts and machining details required for surface fixing or suspension. The profile body should not be assumed to be ready for every installation scenario.

  4. Joints in long runs

Plan the cut length, the joint positions and the cable route. The continuity of the body, the cover and the light line across the joints is assessed together.

Use in linear luminaire design

An LED luminaire body can be considered for linear lighting designs planned for offices, work areas and commercial interiors. Suitability depends on the target lighting requirement and on the chosen LED and electrical components. In choosing a linear housing profile, the architectural appearance, the connection method and the accessibility of the components are resolved within the same design.

Body machining and installation plan

Cutting and hole positions should be set according to the technical drawing and the electrical layout. Before the body is fixed, the cable entries, the connection areas and the seating of the cover are checked. The position of the lighting components and the thermal conditions are assessed against the technical requirements of the relevant components. The electrical connections of the finished system should be made by a competent installer.
