Choosing an LED profile for a pendant design
A pendant LED profile is the workable profile body used in a lighting design. An aluminium pendant profile is chosen by the shape of its section and the position of the LED channel. The names oval and round describe the cross-section of the body; they do not mean a ready-made ring pendant or a product bent to a given diameter. All the connections of the design have to be planned separately.

Flat pendant section
The 8×17 pendant LED profile is the model with a flat body shape. The ratio between the visible metal surface and the light opening affects the overall look of the pendant design.

Oval-section model
The oval pendant LED profile is distinguished by the oval body form of its cross-section. Cable entry, cut ends and the position of the LED channel should be planned with this form in mind.

Round-section model
The round pendant LED profile is considered for designs that call for a round body section. Whether the profile can be formed should not be assumed from the section name; the process to be applied has to be verified separately.

Double-channel model
The double-channel pendant LED profile is the option that holds more than one LED channel in the same body. The light direction of the channels, the cover arrangement and the cable layout are compared against the technical drawing.
Complete the design when choosing a pendant profile

Body shape
Assess the appearance of the flat, oval and round sections together with the scale of the project. Read the dimensions of the outer body and of the LED channel separately.

LED channel
Check the width of the LED strip and the direction in which it sits. On sections that take an LED profile cover, confirm that the cover seats in the body.

Fixing and suspension layout
Hangers, fixings, end pieces and the cable exit are determined by the design. The compatibility of the connecting parts with the profile body should be examined separately.

Machining needs
Match the cutting, drilling or forming plan to the material and section data. The same bending or joining capability should not be expected of every model.
Use in custom lighting designs
A decorative lighting profile can be considered as the body solution in pendant designs over tables, in work areas and in interiors. An LED pendant body is chosen together with the intended light direction, the visible section and the position of the connections. The light characteristics of the finished design also depend on the LED and the optical components chosen apart from the profile.
From profile body to finished design
Profile lengths and joints should be set out on a drawing, and the fixing and cable holes machined to that plan. The finishing of the cut ends, the position of the LED component and the seating of the cover are checked. The hanging or fixing arrangement is resolved according to the conditions of the finished design. For electrical connections, the technical requirements of the relevant components apply.
