Shadow Gap Profile

The aluminium shadow-gap profile forms a neat joint and shadow line on plasterboard surfaces. Its channel-shaped body defines the decorative division in the wall or ceiling, while the flanges on both sides allow the profile to sit in the plane of the lining.

    The plasterboard shadow-gap profile divides large surfaces into linear sections and gives the wall and ceiling design a measured rhythm.

  • Four channel widths

    The 10, 30, 40 and 50 mm options offer different appearances, from a thin shadow joint to more pronounced decorative openings.

  • Mounting flange on both sides

    The flanges help the shadow-gap channel to work within the same application detail as the plasterboard surfaces on either side.

  • Fixed channel depth

    The 16 mm depth allows the shadow effect and the relationship to the surface to be assessed together with the chosen channel width.

Applications and model selection

It is used in plasterboard walls, suspended ceilings and decorative surface divisions. In applications that call for a shadow joint profile, the channel width is chosen together with the scale of the space, the spacing of the lines and the direction of the lighting.

Installation and Size Selection

The shadow-gap line is marked out before installation; the profile flanges are fixed in a way compatible with the lining system. The channel opening is kept clear during filling and painting. For structural movement joints, an expansion joint detail suited to the project must be determined separately.
