The 2.2 cm Trimless Plasterboard LED Profile is a linear lighting profile that sits under the plaster on plasterboard surfaces, with its edges concealed. With an outer body width of 22 mm, the Y6279 model offers a section alternative for projects choosing between thin and medium-width lines of light.

Highlights

  • Trimless LED profile with 22 mm body

    The body is wider than that of the 1.5 cm model and is considered for projects that want a more pronounced band of light in the design.

  • 60.05 mm mounting width

    The overall width including the flanges helps in planning the recessed installation. The channel is not cut to the size in the product name alone.

  • Recessed (plaster-in) LED profile

    The perforated flanges provide an area for fixing and for the plaster layer. With the right surface finish, no wide visible frame is left on either side of the line of light.

  • Light surface completed by a cover

    A polycarbonate or flexible cover can be chosen. For an even appearance, LED density, position within the channel and the cover properties are assessed together.

Applications and model selection

It can be used in residential ceilings, corridors, meeting rooms and in-store plasterboard applications. The 2.2 cm model is chosen by looking at the scale of the line in the space together with the cavity where the channel will sit.

Installation and Model Compatibility

Before installation, the section and the cover are tried together. The profile is fixed through its flanges; plaster must not spill into the channel. The LED strip should sit in the inner seat and the connection points should not touch the cover. For a more continuous appearance, a strip of suitable density or COB LED can be assessed on a sample.

Step-by-step installation

  1. Cut the channel

    Cut the plasterboard to the profile size to open a channel.

  2. Position the profile

    Place the profile squarely in the channel you have cut.

  3. Fix with screws

    Fix the profile with screws through the mounting holes in its flanges.

  4. Apply plaster

    Apply plaster

    Cover the perforated flanges with plaster and level the surface.

  5. Finish the painting

    Once the surface is dry, complete the painting.

  6. Fit the LED strip

    Fit the LED strip

    Place the LED strip or modules in the inner channel of the profile.

  7. Remove the protective tape

    Remove the protective tape

    Carefully peel the protective tape off the diffuser cover.

  8. Switch on the light

    Switch on the light

    The result is continuous light and a clean finish.

Correct installation sequence

  1. Position and screw in place with the cover fitted.
  2. Plaster and paint with the cover and tape in place.
  3. When installing the LEDs, remove the tape first, then the cover.
  4. Fit the LEDs and refit the cover.

How is the diffuser cover fitted?

    Seat one edge of the cover in the channel and apply pressure to the other edge.

For products with a single finish, the finish is stated under Product Specifications. For colours outside the standard options, you can submit a custom colour request with a RAL code.
