Aluminium Feather Edge, Blade Section

The aluminium feather edge with a blade section is a hand tool for plastering: it is drawn across the fresh plaster to scrape off the excess and leave a flat plane. The section, which tapers at one end, forms the working edge that contacts the surface.

Highlights
  • Thin working edge

The aluminium blade feather edge provides an edge for scraping excess plaster off the surface in a controlled way.

  • Working on guides

The feather edge is run on Ano profiles set to the same plane and follows the alignment of the plaster.

  • Two weights per length

The 1,100 and 2,200 g options are weight figures for one length; the choice is made together with a check of the section.

  • Mill finish extruded surface

The aluminium body of this plastering straight edge is supplied with a plain as-extruded surface.

Applications and model selection

It is used as a plastering straight edge for levelling gypsum plaster and suitable mortars. The working length is assessed according to the wall width, the guide spacing and the room the plasterer has to move.

Application and Surface Check

The guides are checked to confirm that they are in the same plane. The feather edge is moved across the fresh plaster with a steady motion; low areas are filled and checked again. After use, mortar residue on the working edge is cleaned off to preserve its accuracy.
