Box Straightedge Profile

The box straightedge profile helps check the plane of a plaster surface with its rectangular, single-cavity aluminium section. Its flat outer faces rest on the guide lines and form the working area for removing excess mortar.

Highlights

  • Rectangular working body

    With its flat outer faces, the aluminium box straightedge helps check alignment in plastering and surface levelling work.

  • Single-cavity section

    The inside of the body is a single chamber; this geometry distinguishes the model from the centre-supported box straightedge.

    The 1,100, 1,600 and 2,200 g figures refer to one profile length; the match between the selected section and the weight is checked.

    The aluminium body is supplied with an uncoated, as-extruded surface.

Applications and model selection

It can be used as a box plaster straightedge in gypsum and other suitable plaster work. The nominal 30×70 and 30×75 mm sizes are assessed together with the working span and the actual profile section.

Application and Surface Check

After the Ano lines and the straightness of the straightedge have been checked, the fresh plaster is levelled with steady movements. Low areas are filled and levelled again. After use the contact surfaces are cleaned; the profile is protected from bending and edge damage.
