1.5 cm Flexible Trimless LED Profile

The 1.5 cm Flexible Trimless Plasterboard LED Profile is an aluminium recessed (plaster-in) profile developed for creating curved lines of light in plasterboard ceilings and walls. The segmented flanges of the Y6282 model help the profile follow curved runs; the edges blend into the plaster and bring the line of light forward.

  • Flexible plasterboard LED profile

    The flexible body supports wavy and arc-shaped lighting designs as well as straight runs. The curve of the application is determined by assessing the profile and the cover together.

  • Frameless plaster-in lighting

    The perforated side flanges form a surface for fixing and plastering at the plasterboard joint. The aim on the finished surface is a frameless lighting detail.

  • Thin linear appearance

    The 15 mm body width helps to set out a thin line in curved ceiling patterns. The overall mounting area is assessed together with the flanges.

  • Cover continuity along the curve

    Choosing a cover that adapts to the curve of the profile allows the light surface to follow the design line. Controlled shaping is applied rather than sharp forcing.

Applications and model selection

It can be considered for decorative living room ceilings, hotel lobbies, shop designs and curved wall niches. The flexible model is chosen for wave or arc-shaped projects; for straight lines only, a fixed model suited to the project section is chosen.

Installation and Model Compatibility

The run is first marked on the plasterboard; the profile is shaped in stages and fixed through its flanges. The channel opening and cover seating are protected during plastering. The LED strip is chosen according to the usable inner width and the bending direction; continuity of the light is checked in a short trial with the cover fitted.

Step-by-step installation

  1. Cut the channel

    Cut the channel

    Cut the plasterboard to the profile size to open a channel.

  2. Position the profile

    Position the profile

    Place the profile squarely in the channel you have cut.

  3. Fix with screws

    Fix with screws

    Fix the profile with screws through the mounting holes in its flanges.

  4. Apply plaster

    Apply plaster

    Cover the perforated flanges with plaster and level the surface.

  5. Finish the painting

    Finish the painting

    Once the surface is dry, complete the painting.

  6. Fit the LED strip

    Fit the LED strip

    Place the LED strip or modules in the inner channel of the profile.

  7. Remove the protective tape

    Remove the protective tape

    Carefully peel the protective tape off the diffuser cover.

  8. Switch on the light

    Switch on the light

    The result is continuous light and a clean finish.

  1. Position and screw in place with the cover fitted.
  2. Plaster and paint with the cover and tape in place.
  3. When installing the LEDs, remove the tape first, then the cover.
  4. Fit the LEDs and refit the cover.
