LED Profiles
LED profiles define the channel that holds the LED strip and the architectural appearance of the lighting line. The Yiğit Alüminyum collection includes profile groups for plasterboard, furniture, ceiling corner, pendant and skirting applications, along with covers that are selected by checking compatibility. First decide on the installation location and the surface finish; then compare the sections in the relevant group.
Category guide
Find the LED profile group that suits your application
An aluminium LED profile is not chosen by the width of the light line alone. Recessed or surface mounting, the visibility of the frame, the direction of the light and the internal dimension of the LED channel are assessed together. When looking for an LED strip profile, the first step is to choose the application family. Products within the same family can also differ in section, installation and cover connection.
LED profile families by installation detail
-
01
Light lines in plasterboard
Trimless LED profiles are considered for frameless finishes where the flanges stay beneath the plaster. Slim LED profiles are distinguished by the thin edge frame that remains visible on the surface. The plasterboard cut-out, the profile body and the finished surface level should be planned according to the installation detail of the chosen family.

02
Recessed and surface-mounted channels
Flanged LED profiles offer solutions where the body sits in a routed groove and the side flanges finish the edge. Surface LED profiles bring together straight channel, corner, neon and special body sections. The section used in a furniture or cladding application is matched to the way the surface is machined.
-
03
Ceiling perimeter and wall base
Ceiling corner LED profiles determine the position of the light in corner, hidden lighting and curtain pocket details. LED skirting profiles resolve the body and the light channel together at the junction of wall and floor. The direction of light output and maintenance access are examined separately for each model.

04
Luminaire bodies and covers
The housing in the Linear LED Profiles category is considered for linear luminaire design. Pendant LED profiles offer different body sections. LED profile covers are separate parts, selected by matching them to the seat and line shape of the relevant profile.
Four basic checks when choosing an LED profile
-
01
Installation family
Identify whether the application is plasterboard, furniture, corner or wall base. Separate the installation conditions of frameless, visible-frame, flanged and surface-mounted sections.
-
02
Usable channel
Compare the actual width of the LED strip with the internal channel of the profile. The dimension in the model name may also refer to the width of the outer body or the cover.
-
03
Diffuser and light appearance
The cover seat, the LED layout and the channel depth are assessed together. For a uniform appearance, compare the components on a short trial piece.
-
04
Electrical and service layout
The power requirement of the LED, the driver location and access to connections are planned in advance. The choice of profile does not by itself determine the electrical or environmental protection properties of the finished lighting.
Architectural and furniture lighting applications
A linear lighting profile can be considered in a range of designs, from linear lights on ceilings and walls to shelf, display cabinet, pendant and skirting details. As the range of applications widens, it is not possible to use a single section or installation method for all groups. In the relevant subcategory, the model selection is narrowed by comparing the surface, the channel and the direction of the light together.
Move from subcategory to technical section
First choose the installation family, then compare the technical drawing of the product with the application surface. The cut-out, fixing, corner return and cable routing should be resolved on the same plan. Once the compatibility of the LED and cover to be used has been confirmed, the surface finish and installation sequence are decided. The parts that will need to be reached during maintenance are taken into account at the start of the design.
Choose the LED profile group for your application
Choose the LED profile group according to where it will be installed; make the final decision based on the technical section of the product and component compatibility.
